Senior Manager, Human Resources
Position Summary:
Working under minimal supervision, the Senior Manager, Human Resources is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, programs and processes that support the overall business objectives of the Vacaville, CA manufacturing site, including organizational design, talent management, change management, employee relations, talent acquisition and retention strategies, employee development, succession planning, leadership & team development and employee communications. The Senior Manager, Human Resources is part of the site leadership team and leads the site HR function, ensuring accurate interpretation and administration of HR policies and programs. S/he creates and oversees the implementation of HR plans and programs related to organizational design, development and change. S/he provides group and one on one coaching with managers and employees on a broad range of human capital issues. S/he creates and facilitates structures and strategies to improve individual and organizational performance and to enable the organization to accomplish its goals. S/he partners with line leaders to grow diverse leadership, talent and technical capability pipeline.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Manager, Human Resources serves as member of site leadership team with responsibility for developing and shaping site HR strategy and goals in support of short-and long-term site objectives. S/he partners with business leaders to grow diverse leadership, develop and drive the talent agenda and technical capability across the site. S/he implements and develops effective strategies to enable the organization to thrive through periods of significant change as well as implements appropriate HR solutions aligned with business direction. S/he leads HR team in the delivery of client services (organizational strategy, talent management, total rewards and employee relations). S/he implements standardized HR processes at the local level and leads initiatives to support "One HR" objectives. S/he promotes positive employee relations through design, communication and interpretation of HR policies and programs and provides strong leadership to guide and/or coach managers and employees through action or influence to support leadership development, business decision-making, human resources management, and problem solving and performance management. S/he provides leadership and direction for all people focused groups (Employee Resource Groups, CREDO Action Team, community outreach, etc). S/he develops and oversees implementation of site communication and change management strategies and practices and establishes and maintains collaborative partnerships with HR specialist groups (e.g. Global Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Employee/Labor Relations) and respective client groups, to promote effective HR processes and consistent implementation of HR policies/practices.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Qualifications:
The Senior Manager, Human Resources must possess a Bachelor’s degree, having a Major in Business or Human Resources or an M.B.A. or M.A./M.S. related to Human Resources is preferred. A minimum of 8 - 10 years of Human Resources experience, with a minimum of at least 6 years HR Business Partner or Generalist experience is required. Experience providing HR support to manufacturing or supply chain functions and experience in HR specialist functions such as recruiting, talent management, organization design/development, employee relations or compensation is strongly preferred. Previous experience leading, coaching and developing exempt level HR professionals is required. The Senior Manager, Human Resources must have strong problem-solving and critical/analytical thinking abilities and be organized in thought and approach with demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage a variety of tasks. S/he must have excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication (verbal and written) and organizational consulting skills. This includes, but is not limited to, ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels within the organization, ability to work through complex business issues and identify required HR interventions, mediation/conflict resolution/intervention skills and strong coaching and counseling skills. S/he must possess demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills and demonstrated results in the implementation of HR processes required such as Performance Management, Succession and Development Planning and management of employee relations issues. Prior experience in designing and implementing new organizational models is preferred. Previous experience driving strategic change to meet changing business needs and exploring new business models is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate a firm foundation in change management and organizational design beyond just theory in order to partner effectively and creatively with a continually changing organization. S/he must demonstrate strong values and ethics which establish a culture of trust and transparency and have extensive knowledge of state (California) and Federal employment law. The Senior Manager, Human Resources must have computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HRIS systems. Domestic and international travel is required on a limited basis (less than 10%).

Workspace is office environment within a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing site – limited exposure to physical or chemical hazards.
