The Senior Director, Access Services is responsible for directing all elements of the Access Services department for the Janssen therapeutic areas managed within the North America Pharmaceutical Operating Companies. This includes policy, marketing, new product development, patient affordability, nursing services and hotlines for all product lines. The position also requires expertise and ability to comply with Sarbanes Oxley, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health(HITECH), Food and Drug Administration(FDA)and EuropeanMedicines Agency (EMA) Adverse Event, Product Quality Compliant and Off Label requirements, Fair Market Valuations, Contract Pricing Committee, Promotional Review Committee and any new requirements that may be present themselves. In addition, the Senior Director would provide patient and provider access strategies and tools to proactively align with marketing and business growth plans for each franchise, participate on new product launch teams to implement access and reimbursement plans, and develop strong working relationships with Marketing, Sales, Legal, Finance, Federal and State Government Affairs, HCC, and Training. The Senior Director will manage the team responsible for leading the development and implementation of Access and Affordability programs for assigned Janssen therapeutic areas within North America Pharmaceutical. Leads the team in developing and designing competitive and compliant access and affordability programs and stakeholder-centric tools to support appropriate provider, caregiver, and patient access to our products. Assesses product profile to develop access strategies. Facilitates cross team collaboration to ensure access service team members may develop and present access support strategies based on specific products and/or brand needs. Ensures launches and updates to Access Support programs are timely and complete to provide best in class service to stakeholders. Leads team in translation of analytic findings into insights that address key access support decisions and strategies. Leverages an understanding of value-based healthcare economics, payment and delivery models, and the roles of the payor, provider and patients in access support decisions to inform strategy. Leverages understanding of key financial and economic metrics to develop and present business cases and budgets to leadership. Utilizes insight from collective programs to ensure access support program development aligns to the product, patient, and provider demographics and needs. Leads team in managing vendor performance to ensure efficiency and cost savings. Leads team in negotiating contract terms to ensure compliance, fair market value, and to appropriately balance J&J and stakeholder risks and interests. Ensures the ongoing supervision of team, including hiring, developing, training, and motivating team members to achieve business and professional developmental goals and objectives. Develops and executes effective and collaborative negotiating strategies that result in win-win solutions and buy-in from all stakeholders for proposed access and affordability strategies. Presents access and affordability updates to Senior Management and relates complex situations through high level executive summaries.
The Senior Director - Access Services provides expert guidance on all aspects of access services to ensure that all aspects are aligned to protect J&J’s interests and that all parties are held accountable to access support program policies and procedures.
Consults with stakeholders to develop and execute exceptional total solutions that exceed mutual current and unmet or unrealized needs that bring value to all parties.
Models and coaches others to effectively convince internal and external stakeholders to adopt difficult positions, build mutual alignment, and achieve win-win outcomes.
Provides analytics guidance and support, including defining analysis plans, synthesizing analytic findings to share insights that improve understanding and uncover new opportunities.
Leads the business planning process from an Access Services perspective to ensure the alignment of stakeholder and organizational commercial strategies and a focus on results.
Shapes short- and long-term marketing plans to optimize opportunities in light of competitive
insights and future trends.
Leads access program development through all major stages, including ensuring that programs appropriately balance J&J and stakeholder risks and interests.
Champions change efforts, manages change, and coaches others to embrace and quickly adapt to change.
Leads the delivery and creation of innovative and tailored communications and presentations that educate and mobilize critical stakeholders.
Hires, develops, trains, and motivates team members to achieve business and professional developmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications
A min8imum of a Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced Degree or MBA preferred. 12 years of progressive bio/pharmaceutical experience required. Functional group leadership required. Guidance document expertise preferred. 8 or more years experience in one or more of the following areas: access services, finance, contracting, business development, medical devices and diagnostics, or sales preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with others and defend logical business arguments, including reaching a consensus of opinion when required.
Experience leading and managing people and project teams with or without direct report authority
Also required: Experience in managing projects and leading direct reports.
Experience leading and managing outside partners.
Awareness of competitor programs and ability to conduct market research as well as capture feedback and the ability to apply technology to provide unique business solutions is necessary for success in this position. This position is located in Raritan, NJ and requires up to 50% travel.
